Michael Says...
Good news continues to flood in and Louella stock continues to give a good account of itself in the UK's biggest and BEST competitions - Mr F. Tilston & sons of "Smithy Lofts" writes as follows: Just to thank you and report a 1st West section, 1st Open Midlands National Old hens win with a hen bred from a cock purchased from yourselves.

The sire of our National winner is "Smithy Invincible" bred by Louella. He is a son of Invincible Hero son of Invincible Spirit &
Blue Sapphire a daughter of De Smaragd I & De Smaragd II.

In the same season 2008, the nest mate to the National winner won 11th section, 44th Open and 1st West Scetion, 7th Open Yearling Classic MNFC Falaise 315mls. A 1/2 brother won 10th section 198th Open MNFC Bergerac 592mls.

"Smithy Invincible" has previously bred winners in club, Federation and Amalgamation up to Niort 480 mls. prior to us concentrating on National racing this year.

Thanks again,

Steve Tilston.

I'm sure fanciers will agree that the Tilston partnership is enjoying much success with their stock bred via the fabulous Invincible Spirit which has undoubtedly left and indelible marque for the good on the British racing scene. We offer of our sincere congratulations to Messrs. Tilston and will be in touch shortly to present them with a good mate for their newest star.

On another subject. Having been away for a couple of weeks I return to find that nothing much has changed in fancy press - the wild exaggerated claims made by some advertisers are nothing more than 'pie in the sky'. For example I noted that one advertiser claims that he was the only one to have direct stock from Piet Rietvink and goes on to publish in the same advert photographs of Champions Gold Finger, Gold Bond and Van Moorsel all of which were purchased by Louella before this particular loft had purchased a feather ! No credit was given to Louella having purchased these birds nor were we
asked if our pigeons could be used in there ad. We were there first and bought the BEST ! The crumbs were available.

In another ad some fabulous claims are being made for the Lindelauf winner De Chateauroux having won 1st prize against 50,000b. Piet Lindelauf writes as follows in my absence on the 15th August 2008: 'We confirm that De Chateauroux won the NPO race against 2,954 pigeons.

Kind regards

Piet Lindelauf

So where did 50,000 birds come from ? We don't get involved in the making of wild and exaggerated claims we have no need because for 56 years we have introduced the actual racing and breeding Champions regardless of cost when available. Our competitors don't do this and resort to any tactic to further there promotions.

In closing I would like to thank fanciers everywhere for your continued support - I noted from our web stat support team that interest in the Louella site continues to grow, receiving 9,808 visitors in the last week of August ! This is more than 300% up on a year ago.

Latest News
1st August 2008 - All New Louella Web List'sInterest in our web sales list and the site generally continues to be brisk and we continue to take on board your views for further ease of use and presentation. Currently the web sales list is up dated every Wednesday going live at 10am. There are the obvious advantages of doing this as fanciers are guaranteed a wide choice of fresh stock from a variety of families on a weekly basis. The down side is that because many fanciers are at work on a Wednesday at 10am some of the bargains that were of interest to them have already gone before they had an opportunity to log in. The easy answer to this problem is for us to update the site more frequently thus allowing fanciers an even greater choice throughout the week. There are certain logistical problems attached to that for us, but not impossible, so in the coming days and weeks youwill see some major changes to how our sales stock is updated - all of the changes will be for the better we think. The first and most obvious changes will be as birds are sold they will be replaced with new stock daily as required. The lists presented will be larger with up to 200 stock birds on sale from over 20 different families at any one time. Additionally there will be a sales list dedicated to our Certificate of Origin (no pedigree supplied) stock. This will allow fanciers interested in purchasing exceptionally good pigeons at very small prices the same see before you buy opportunity as everyone else. This list will be run on an updated as required basis and will feature families from a number of strains. Starting today the 1st August at 1.30pm over 200 pigeons will be featured here at any time.
