8th July 2008 - Louella stock season so far.Louella stock continues to enjoy a phenomenal season with good reports of winners from all parts of the British Isles. These include; Roy Whittaker of Leek wins 1st Open Midlands National Flying Club 2008 with his blue cock King Arthur. King Arthur won his section by 33 YPM and is a Braspenning X Vandenabeele. Roy has enjoyed much success with his Louella Braspenning's and continues to do so. The British International Championship Club is another major on the racing calender - Louella stock performed particularly well with the 1st North section 1st Open Saran 424 miles winner for Budgie and Sue Crathorne was a Jan Aarden cock from our friends Barbara and Dave Kennett whilst 1st East section 2nd Open was George Fletcher of Margate with a Louella Jan Loots Janssen. 4th East section 5th Open was John Nicholls of Southend on Sea with one of a batch of £99 per 6 Louella Jos Soontjens - It didn't end there because 5th East section 6th Open was Mr & Mrs J. Sanders of Great Totham with a 3 yr. old widower Verheye bred via a pair supplied by us. Moving North of the border it was noted that another Louella bred Jan Aarden won 3rd section F Scottish National Newbury for Frank Lawrie from and entry of 3,835b. In Wales Clive Harris and son winners of the first 5 in the National last year with Louella Braspenning's are still at the TOP in 2008 when winning 1st Centre East section Welsh South Road National Tours 350 mls. In the same race David Millard of Blaenavon won 4th National his 2 yr. old winner containing Massarella Jan Aarden breeding - Again from Tours National winning 1st West section is Phil Fishlock & Hilary Roberts and their winner a yearling hen sired by a 12 year old Louella Janssen via De Zot '58 - The Fishlock Roberts partnership also win 1st Open Welsh South Road National Lessay 2008 with a Blue ylg. cock sired by a Louella Braspenning. In Ireland another Louella Braspenning won 1st NIPA section G 2nd and £787 ( Louella Kleine Lichte breeding) in the prestigious 5 bird Mallow race for a good friend Ron McKelvey

12th June 2008 - Foal Gemma arrives at Louella and recent winnersMany will know that we are as famous for our horses as we are our world renowned racing pigeons but few will know that we also breed a few donkeys. The first of these was foaled at Louella last Sunday 8th of June and named Gemma. When you visit on Sundays don't forget to tell the kids about Hazel the donkey's new baby foal. They look delightful and are currently housed in the paddocks adjacent to pigeon world. Congratulations to; Limburg Brothers of Zuidveen, Holland on winning 1st Open Dutch National Limoges 17,643b. 2008. Their winner now named 'Spirit' was a previous winner of 8th National S4 Bergerac 3,680b., 32nd NPO Brive 3,241b., 49th Dutch National S4 5,072b. Ruffec 5,072b. 'Spirit' has been 8 times in the TOP 100 of National and NPO and 8 times in the TOP 1% of the total liberation. 'Spirit' was bred for the job with both parents being bred by Jan Theelan and his sire a g.son of Louella's Invincible Spirit ! Invincible Spirit is unsurpassed at stock both home and abroad with 1st Prize National winners now in four different countries. Congratulations to; Gerard & Piet Lindelauf winners in 2008 of 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th National NPO Bourges 4,447b. Their winning pigeon is sired by the 4 x 1st open winner 'Exempel' when mated to 'Daddys Girl' a daughter of Louella's legendary 'Wonderboy' X a daughter of Champion 'Prinses' (owned by LPW and daughter of 'Wonderboy'). This is another fantastic result for the Lindelauf's having won in 2007 1st, 14th & 15th Blue Ribband Dutch National Orleans 37,602b. with 'Miss World' (property of Louella) heading the team. Congratulations to; Malachy Maguire and son Mark who are enjoying another fantastic season in 2008. The Maguire's have a very well written write up in this weeks BHW (13.6.08) by 'Adie'. The fantastic pigeon 'Home Alone' which was bred by Louella gets several mentions having won the Combine, NIPA or National (1st National Blue Ribband Fougere's 15 1/2 hours on the wing and only day bird) on no fewer than 3 occasions he is now proving his worth at stock having bred birds to win 30 x 1st for them including Moonlight Lass winner of INFC single bird challenge, No Problem 11 x 1st etc. Malachy says, Louella pigeons have been an inspiration to his loft and he cannot than the Massarella's enough for the excellent pigeons the partnership have obtained from us over the years. Our sincere thanks go out to Adie on the report and of course to Malachy and Mark Maguire who undoubtedly a great fanciers who have the ability to extract the BEST from their birds.
